Can we Legally Buy CBD Oil in Australia?

At the time of writing, CBD is actually legally obtainable here in OZ, but you’re going to have to jump through a few hoops in order to get your hands on it.
CBD products were legalised in November 2017, but only under special access. Anything containing CBD is considered a ‘scheduled product’. You’ll need to go to your doctor, and they then have to refer you to an approved specialist who is authorised to prescribe CBD.
That is, provided you can convince your GP to even consider CBD as an option.

But wait, isn’t CBD a form of marijuana? Aren’t marijuana products illegal in Australia?
Well, no. (and yes, in that order) CBD is a constituent of marijuana, but CBD is also contained in Industrial Hemp. You know, the stuff we used to make ropes, sails, clothing, and literally hundreds of things from for hundreds of years. Long before synthetic products like Nylon or Polyester were invented. An interesting fact here; Levi’s Jeans were originally made from hemp fibre.
Hemp is quickly returning to favour as an excellent and profitable agricultural crop.
